Propose Your Topic
Contact Us
Interested in publishing your living meta-analysis on AMORE? Reach out through our contact form -- there is no commitment required. We are happy to answer questions about the standardization framework, analysis requirements, or protocol preparation.
What to Include in Your Proposal
- A meta-analysis investigating oxytocin related to a biobehavioral outcome
- A proposed update frequency (maximum 24 months between updates)
- A draft protocol aligned with our standardization framework -- see the checklist on the Resources page for required elements
Steering Committee Review
Review Process
Your proposal is reviewed by the AMORE steering committee, a panel of experts in oxytocin research methodology. The committee evaluates feasibility, scope, and adherence to platform standards.
- Confirmation that the topic falls within the platform's remit
- Verification that all mandatory checklist requirements are met
- Methodological feedback and guidance where needed
Typical review turnaround: 2–4 weeks.
Pre-registration
Registration Requirements
Before conducting the review, you must pre-register your protocol in a recognized repository. Pre-registration ensures transparency and protects against post-hoc analytical decisions.
- Register in a recognized repository such as the Open Science Framework or PROSPERO
- Include your full search strategy, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and planned analyses
- Once registered, your project will receive its own page on the AMORE platform
Conduct Review
Perform Systematic Review
With your protocol pre-registered, you can begin the systematic review. Adherence to the registered protocol is essential; any deviations must be documented.
- Conduct the review based on your pre-registered protocol
- All analyses must be performed using free software to ensure reproducibility
- Track any deviations from the protocol and document them in a deviation report
Data Deposit
Data Requirements
Open data is a cornerstone of the AMORE framework. All materials must be deposited in publicly accessible repositories before publication.
- Deposit the complete dataset in a recognized repository (e.g. Open Science Framework or Zenodo)
- Deposit the analysis script in a recognized repository
- Include the deviation report as supplementary material alongside the analysis script
Publication
Publication Process
AMORE encourages rapid dissemination. Publish a pre-print before or alongside journal submission so the community can access your findings immediately.
- Publish the manuscript on a recognized pre-print server (e.g., Open Science Framework)
- Submit to a peer-reviewed journal
- Your AMORE project page will be updated with links to the pre-print, published paper, and deviation report
- Ensure all documentation remains publicly accessible
Regular Updates
Update Requirements
The defining feature of a living meta-analysis is its ongoing updates. You are responsible for conducting new searches according to your registered schedule.
- Conduct new searches according to your update plan (maximum 24 months between updates)
- For each update: document all changes, remove any retracted papers, and update all relevant materials
- Maintain public accessibility of all documents
- Follow the original protocol for consistency across updates
